A BILL to amend article one, chapter eleven of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated section eight,
relating to continuing the department of tax and revenue.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That article one, chapter eleven of the code of West Virginia,
one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended by
adding thereto a new section, designated section eight, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 1. SUPERVISION.
§11-1-8. Termination.

Pursuant to the provisions of article ten, chapter four of
this code, the department of tax and revenue shall continue to
exist until the first day of July, two thousand five, unless sooner
terminated, continued or reestablished pursuant to the provisions
of that article.

(NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue the Department
of Tax and Revenue until July 1, 2005, pursuant to the West
Virginia Sunset Law.

This bill has been recommended for passage by the Joint
Committee on Government Operations.
